Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel has paid homage to former Lok Sabha MP, former Union Minister and journalist, Shri Chandulal Chandrakar on his birth anniversary on January 1. Recalling the invaluable contribution of Mr. Chandrakar to Chhattisgarh, Mr. Baghel said that as the president of Chhattisgarh State Nirman Sarva Party Manch, Mr. Chandulal gave a new direction to the state movement. Shri Chandulal Chandrakar ji was elected to the Lok Sabha five times and continued to serve the general public. He did remarkable work while handling important departments like tourism, civil aviation, agriculture, rural development. Mr. Baghel said that the son of Chhattisgarh, Mr. Chandulal ji was associated with active journalism before politics and earned a lot of fame as a journalist in the country and abroad. He was the first person to reach the post of editor of a national newspaper from Chhattisgarh. He raised many burning issues with his writings. In order to encourage value based journalism, Chhattisgarh government has established Chandulal Chandrakar Fellowship in the field of journalism in his memory. Mr. Chandulal Chandrakar, who has illuminated the name of Chhattisgarh in the country with fearless and value-based journalism, is a source of inspiration for the new generation.
