Chief Minister Skill Development Scheme: giving flight to the dreams of youth

As a result of effective implementation of skill development scheme in the state on the initiative of Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel and Skill Development Minister Umesh Patel, 48 thousand 618 people have been trained in the last three years. 24 thousand 613 people trained and got employment. Out of which 13 thousand 362 got employment in various sectors, while 11 thousand 251 were linked to self-employment. Chhattisgarh is the first state in the country, which has given its youth a legal right to get skill training in the professions of their choice. Every youth dreams of standing on their own feet, giving color to their dreams, fulfilling the needs of themselves and their families. The world is changing rapidly. New technologies are coming, new areas of employment are being created. The demand for trained workers is also increasing in industries. According to these changes, the main objective of the Kaushal Vikas Yojana is to prepare the youth and upgrade their skills and connect them with employment and self-employment. In place of Modular Employable Skills (MES) courses, training is being provided in National Qualification Skills Framework (NSQF) courses based on market demand and modern technology. For the purpose of water conservation, the State Authority has registered in the list of courses of Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Government of India for training in Rain Water Harvesting Cars. Rojgar Sangi Mobile App was launched to provide better employment opportunities to the skill-trained youth and to provide skilled trained workers to the employers on a single platform. In the mobile app, 14 thousand 262 skilled youth have registered for employment. In order to provide employment to the trained youth, 1 thousand 744 employers have registered on this app. World Bank funded Sankalp (Skills Acquisition and Knowledge Awareness for Livelihood Promotion SANKALP) project is being implemented in the state with the objective of increasing the quality of skill training and better results. The construction work of Livelihood College building has been completed in 24 districts. In this training related activities have been started. The work of construction of Livelihood College Girls Hostel building has been completed in 25 districts and construction work of Boys Hostel building has been completed in 18 districts. Counseling cell has been established in the Livelihood College of each district for counseling of the beneficiaries before skill training. In the Livelihood College, 11506 youth have been trained in the last three years, out of the trained youth, 7039 youth have got employment and self-employment.
