Applications are invited for scholarship from promising young artists and students from financially weak

The State Government has invited applications for scholarship from promising young artists and students from economically weaker sections. The last date for submission of application is 31 January 2022. Entries have been invited from such young artists and students for scholarship under the “Scholarship Scheme for promising young artist-students, 2021” run by the Department of Culture. It is noteworthy that for higher training and education to the economically weaker young artists, such students of the state who are studying in music, dance, performing arts, children learning traditional folk arts under the Guru Shishya tradition, etc. “Scholarship Scheme, 2021 for promising young artist-students who are economically disadvantaged” has been started with the aim of providing monthly scholarship as incentive to the artists-students getting training in the disciplines. Under the scheme, promising young artists-students who are getting training or studying in folk-traditional tribal arts and sub-genres, classical music, classical dance and dance music, theatre, visual arts, easy classical music can take advantage of it. To take advantage of the scheme, the actual resident of Chhattisgarh, the applicant’s age should not be less than 15 years and not more than 30 years, the annual income of the applicant or his family should not exceed Rs.72 thousand. It is mandatory for the applicant to register in the Signhari Portal of the Department of Culture. Mode, assessment, annual incentive minimum amount will be from 5 thousand to maximum 10 thousand rupees.
