Pulses have been sown in 5 lakh 39 thousand 440 hectares

Sowing of pulses crops along with other Rabi season crops is going on in the state at a brisk pace. Against the target of sowing pulses crops in 8 lakh 73 thousand 430 hectares in Rabi this year, so far 5 lakh 39 thousand 440 hectares have been sown in various types of pulses, out of which 2 lakh 45 thousand 900 have been sown. Hectare area is comprised of Tivda sowing. According to the information received from the Agriculture Department, so far gram has been sown in 2 lakh 11 thousand 890 hectares, peas in 28 thousand 230 hectares, lentils in 17 thousand 370 hectares, moong in 6 thousand 260 hectares, urad in 3 thousand. Sowing has been done in 920 hectares, Tivda in 2 lakh 45 thousand 900 hectares, Kulthi in 20 thousand 480 hectares and other pulse crops in 5 thousand 390 hectares, which is 62 percent of the target of sowing this year.
