In the third sequence of the meeting to review the progress of paddy procurement in Kharif marketing year 2021-22, Chief Secretary Mr. Amitabh Jain today through video conferencing, the Divisional Commissioners of Bastar, Surguja and Bilaspur and Kondagaon-Bastar-Korba-Korea-Jashpur. Gaurela Pendra took a meeting of the collectors of Marwahi-Bijapur-Sukma-Narayanpur and Dantewada districts. In the meeting, the collectors of the districts informed about the progress of their respective districts at the points fixed for weekly review of paddy procurement. On the basis of the feedback received from the districts, senior state level officials pointed out the shortcomings of the districts and also suggested to take corrective action. The Chief Secretary has given instructions to expedite the lifting of paddy from the procurement centres. He has said that after the contract with the millers working in the area, the paddy for custom milling should be lifted expeditiously. Along with this, special attention has been given to ensure that rice of prescribed quality is stored in the godowns of FCI and Nan after milling. He has said that separate DOs should be issued for different types of rice (mota-patna-sarna) to be deposited in FCI. He has directed to appoint nodal officers in the districts including the state to monitor the delivery of rice in FCI. The Nodal Officer will regularly contact FCI and assess the vacant places in FCI godowns based on the lot of rice to be deposited. At the time of stacking (setting up paddy sacks) in paddy procurement centres, instructions have been given to stack different quality of paddy separately. In this process, coarse-grained-sarna variety of paddy will be kept in separate stacking. Instructions have been given to take adequate measures for the protection and maintenance of the paddy kept in the paddy procurement centers. Taking extra precautions in the border areas, Shri Jain has directed to keep a check and control on illegal transportation of paddy. The procurement centers have been asked to take full care of the convenience of the farmers. Instructions have been given to purchase paddy from small farmers on priority basis. Appreciating the campaign being run for the Kovid-19 vaccination in the districts of Bastar division, the Chief Secretary has directed the people who have taken the first dose of vaccination to focus on getting the second dose of the vaccine at the stipulated time. He has also asked the collectors of other districts to expedite the work of vaccination by running a campaign. Along with this, the procurement centers have been asked to regularly check for infection and vaccinate through mobile units. Citizens coming from abroad have been asked to conduct RTPCR test on the eighth day after the completion of the seven-day period of home isolation. The collectors involved in the meeting also informed about the innovations being adopted for Kovid-19 vaccination in their districts. In Kondagaon and Bastar district, vaccination campaign is being run in the name of corona vaccine festival. Tika Pandum Maha Abhiyan is being run in Dantewada. Vaccination is being done by holding regular vaccination camps on Monday, Wednesday and Friday in Gaurela Pendra Marwahi. In Sukma district, door-to-door contact is being done every day after four o’clock. A weekly review meeting is being organized to know about the progress of paddy procurement and the shortcomings and problems being faced in the implementation of the process. In which information is being taken from the districts included in the cluster by dividing the entire state in the form of a cluster. In the meeting, mainly the quantity and number of farmers purchased so far this year as compared to last year, status of delivery of miller gunny bags to the committee, availability and staking plan of gunny bags for upcoming purchases, paddy lifting from committees, depositing rice by millers. , Registration related to paddy procurement and purification of revenue records, potentially sensitive issues in paddy procurement, efforts of the district to provide better experience and information collection to farmers, immunization and covid testing at paddy procurement centers and to deal with covid infection. A review is being done regarding the preparedness of the districts.
