In this Gothan, the members of eight women self-help groups are engaged in 13 different types of livelihood activities and earning good profit. Hearing the fame of Adarsh ​​Gauthan established in Mahora, a dependent village of Bhanwar Gram Panchayat, Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel himself has also come to this Gauthan and has encouraged the women of the group. 13 different livelihoods in Mahora Gauthan ranging from vermicompost production, earthworm production, egg production, goat rearing, incense sticks manufacturing, double-leaf manufacturing, mini rice mill, fish farming, mushroom production to dung lamps, pots, idols, dung wood making Activities are being done. This Gauthan has become the main center of livelihood of 121 nearby families. Gothan’s activities have earned an income of about Rs.7.5 lakh this year. Hasdeo Amrit brand of Gothan’s Harekrishna Self Help Group is the first manure to get CG CERT Society certificate in the whole of Chhattisgarh for organic manure quality. This manure is being used by the Forest Department for plantation and by the Horticulture Department for crops. Kanti Devi Kavar of the group says that it is icing on the gold that we earn ten rupees per kg from organic fertilizers without any cost. For consumption, it is needed in the village itself, as well as the demand is issued by the government departments. The compost made in this way also leads to waste management and good earnings are also earned in a short time. Hare Krishna Self-Help Group has also made organic products like Nimastra, Brahmastra, Agneyastra, Phenyl, organic insecticide made from cow urine from oil, residue and extracts of Neem Karanj etc. Which is being used from agriculture to agriculture to homes. The women of Gothan have earned more than one lakh 75 thousand rupees by selling 878 quintals of manure in the last three months. The shepherd working in Gauthan has started goat rearing work under the Godhan Nyay Yojana with the amount received by selling about 50 quintals of cow dung. A poultry farm with about 300 and a half chickens has also been developed in Mahora Gauthan. Women have sold more than three and a half thousand eggs from this poultry farm so far. The production of healthy earthworms required for making vermi compost is also being done at Gauthan in Mahora. The women of the group have earned about 25 thousand rupees by producing earthworms. Under Godhan Nyay Yojana, cow dung is being purchased in Gauthan. Machines for making pots, lamps, dung wood etc. from this purchased dung have been installed in Gothan itself. From cow dung products, women’s groups have earned about 10 thousand rupees, making dona-pattal and incense sticks and got an income of about 10 thousand rupees. Railing machines have also been installed in Mahora Gauthan for cocoon threading. The women of the self-help groups engaged in threading have earned an additional income of about 10 thousand rupees from this. Necessary arrangements for packaging of Vermi Compost are also available in Gothan. The work of printing brand names on plastic bags is also done in Mahora Gauthan. From here these printed sacks are sent to the entire district as per demand. The group gets an income of about 20 thousand rupees from sack printing itself. To grow vegetables in Mahora, gardens have been built on the land adjacent to Gauthan. Two self-help groups have earned about Rs.74 thousand from vegetable production in the last season itself. Along with this, women groups are also getting good income from mushroom production, fish farming and mini rice mill. Mahora Gauthan as a really small rural industrial unit is fast making its mark in the surrounding areas. Members of Gauthan committees from other districts also come to observe this Gauthan of Korba and learn about its activities.
