Dr. Shivkumar Dahriya, Minister of Urban Administration and Development and in-charge of Surguja district, Government of Chhattisgarh, today inspected the paddy procurement center Dandgaon in Udaipur development block of Surguja district. After the inspection, while addressing the farmers present there, he said that our government is a farmer friendly government, paddy of each registered farmers will be purchased in support price. Even though there is a shortage of new gunny bags, the purchase of paddy will not be allowed to be affected at any cost. While interacting with the farmers regarding the purchase of paddy, he asked all the registered farmers to sell paddy in support price. Dr. Dahria said that our government is doing all necessary work in the interest of the farmers. In paddy procurement centers, paddy procurement is done with complete transparency in support price. Under the Rajiv Gandhi Kisan Nyay Yojana, farmers easily get the difference amount of support price through input assistance. Last year’s last installment will also be paid soon. He said that taking a decision in the interest of farmers, Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel has increased the value of old gunny bags from Rs 18 to Rs 25. Farmers can also sell paddy in their old gunny bags. Instructions have been given to give priority in selling paddy to small and marginal farmers like small farmers. Priority is being given to these farmers in issuing tokens. He said that everyone has to work together with a farmer-friendly government.
