Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel today observed the lifestyle of tribal communities and the development exhibition put up by various departments during the National Tribal Dance Festival organized at the Science College ground here in the capital. During this, the Chief Minister used to meet people with ease and also inquired about their well being. He called an elderly villager who had come to see the exhibition to him and asked him about his name and the harvest. Shri Koduram Sahu told the Chief Minister that he had come from Kosamanda village in Kawardha. He has 4 acres of land, harvesting is going on. The Chief Minister also asked Mr. Sahu that he is seen, Mr. Sahu said that he is visible. Culture Minister Shri Amarjit Bhagat, Forest Minister Shri Mohammad Akbar, Industries Minister Shri Kawasi Lakhma, Chairman of Home Construction Board Shri Kuldeep Juneja, Chairman of Yoga Commission Shri Gyanesh Sharma also accompanied the Chief Minister during the visit of the exhibition. In the exhibition, the Chief Minister also purchased Dheki rice, munga powder, honey from Marwahi Danikundi. He met Baiga dancers from Sendurkhar in the stall of Karma and Tribal Development Department in Shilpgram. In the stall, items traditionally used by Baigas in their homes were Dheki, Musar, Jata, Kudhera, leaves and bamboo sticks, traditional slingshot, dhuti, kumani, water-cooling trumpet, arrow-bow etc. . In the exhibition hall of Chhattisgarh Social Welfare Department, when the Chief Minister reached near the choir, which was inspiring the de-addiction campaign under the banner of Chhattisgarh Liquor Addiction Mukti Abhiyan, after listening to the lyrics of the song ‘Daaru, Ganja, Bidi Nahi Khana Peena Re’ being sung by the choir. Industries Minister Shri Kawasi Lakhma could not stop himself from dancing on the lines of the song. Shri Lakhma boosted the enthusiasm of the team giving the message of drug de-addiction by treading on the vocals of the singer-instrumental team. Chief Minister Shri Baghel also appreciated the members of the party. In this stall, soups prepared from millets like ragi, dishes like idli, cheela, dosa and millet kheer were kept, which can also be tasted by the visitors. In the exhibition hall of Urban Administration Department, Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel inquired about the sale of generic medicines under the scheme at the stall of Dhanwantri Generic Medical Store. The chemists present at the stall of Dhanwantri Generic Medical Store informed the Chief Minister that this initiative of providing quality affordable medicine is being taken hand-in-hand by the public. Due to the savings being made on medicines, many patients who used to buy essential medicines for few days are now buying medicines for 2-3 months at a time. Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel also gave headphones to Urban Administration Minister Dr. Shivkumar Dahria and made him listen to the audio message of the discount on half of the electricity bill.
