Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel has said that efforts are being made by the state government to bring costly health services to the reach of the poorest of the poor. Many schemes have been started for this. In this episode, Shree Dhanwantri Medical Store scheme has been launched today. Generic medicines will be available at 50 to 71 percent less cost in these medical stores. The Chief Minister was addressing the program after launching the Shri Dhanwantri Generic Medical Store scheme through video conferencing from his residence office here today. Under this scheme, Chief Minister Shri Baghel inaugurated 84 shops in the state. Quality medicines will be available at affordable rates to the consumers from Shree Dhanwantri Generic Medical Stores. Consumers will get the benefit of minimum 50.09 percent and maximum 71 percent discount on MRP of medicines. Chief Minister Shri Baghel also launched home kit and travel kit of medicines on the occasion. This kit will be available for sale at Shree Dhanwantri Generic Medical Store. The cost of home kit of medicines is Rs 691, which will be available in these medical stores at a price of Rs 290 and travel kit which costs Rs 311 will be available for Rs 130. There is a plan to start 188 medical stores in 169 cities of the state. It will be mandatory to sell 251 types of generic medicines and 27 surgical products in these medical stores. Apart from this, Sanjeevani products of Forest Department, cosmetics products and baby food etc. will also be sold. The generic medicines from these medical stores will be from 20 reputed branded companies like Cipla, Alembic, Ranbaxy, Cadila, Pfizer, which will be affordable as well as quality. These medical stores have pain and antipyretic, muscle relaxant, women’s menstrual, pregnancy medicine, allergy, eye, ear, nose, throat disease, heart disease, cold-cough- fever, local and general anaesthesia, Thyroid medicines, antifungal medicines, vitamin tablets and medicines for skin diseases will be available. Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel said on the occasion that the cost of healthcare services all over the world is a cause for concern. Many people become victims of debt and inflation due to medical expenses. With the goal of universal health coverage, the state government has started Mukhyamantri Haat Bazar Clinic Yojna, Mukhyamantri Shahari Slum Health Scheme in urban areas to provide better and better health services in inaccessible places, in which more and more needy through mobile medical units. Health services are reaching the people. Dai-Didi Clinic scheme has been started for women and adolescent girls. The Chief Minister said that by starting Mukhyamantri Suposhan Abhiyan and Malaria Free Abhiyan from Bastar, it has been expanded to the entire state. Hospitals are being made equipped with all facilities from the block level to the district level. New recruitments are being done in 4000 posts in the health department. Dr. Khubchand Baghel Swasthya Sahayata Yojana and Chief Minister’s Special Health Scheme have been started with the aim of providing assistance for treatment to the poorest of the poor. 5 lakh to 20 lakh rupees are given for treatment in these schemes, so that even the poorest of the poor can get treatment for serious diseases. Lack of money should not be a hindrance in treatment. On this occasion, the Chief Minister appealed to the doctors and pharmacists to contribute in popularizing generic medicines and public representatives to publicize this scheme. The Chief Minister said that by collecting forest produce and herbal medicines, organic products are being prepared by the forest dwellers living in the forests, which will also be available in these medical stores. On this occasion, he appealed to make maximum use of these products. The Chief Minister inquired about the benefits being received from the collectors, public representatives and beneficiaries of the scheme associated with different districts. Sumeet Kumar Yadav, the beneficiary of Korba informed that he has saved Rs.600 from the medicines purchased from these medical stores. Similarly, Ms. Parvati of Bastar informed about getting BP medicine for Rs.50 instead of Rs.138. Urban Administration Dr. Shivkumar Dahria and Forest Minister Mr. Mohammad Akbar also addressed the program. Secretary of Urban Administration Department, Mrs. Alarmelmangai D. gave detailed information about the scheme. He said that in future home delivery of medicines would also be started from these medical stores. He said that the Chief Minister’s Slum Health Scheme, till October 13, more than 10 lakh people have been provided the benefits of health facilities. Industries Minister Mr. Kawasi Lakhma, School Education Minister Dr. Prem Sai Singh Tekam, MLAs Mr. Mohan Markam, Mr. Mohit Ram Kerketta and Mr. Purushottam Kanwar, Chief Secretary Mr. Amitabh Jain, Urban Administration and Development Department Secretary Mrs. Alarmelmangai D, State Chief Executive Officer of Urban Development Agency Mr. Saumil Ranjan Choubey was present. Through video conferencing, MLAs, Mayor councilors from different districts, collectors of many people’s representatives also joined the program.
