Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel has said that the Chhattisgarh government is working with full commitment to protect the interests of the tribal community of the state and to ensure that they get their due. Due to the efforts of the government, the standard of living of the tribals has changed in the last two and a half years. Employment opportunities have become available at the local level. The economic condition and purchasing power of tribal society has increased. Giving the example of Dantewada district, the Chief Minister said that in the year 2018, the sale of tractor in Dantewada district was negligible. In the last two and a half years, tribal farmers have purchased more than 400 tractors for agricultural work. The number of motorcycle sales has crossed the double figure to 5 thousand in two and a half years. Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel was addressing the delegation of Sarva Adivasi Samaj at his residence office this evening. Under the leadership of Sarva Adivasi Samaj President Shri Bharat Singh, representatives of all the regions of the state had reached the Chief Minister’s residence to discuss the social problems. The delegation also included retired senior officers of the Indian Administrative Service, Indian Police Service and State Administrative Services. Industries Minister Shri Kawasi Lakhma, Parliamentary Secretary Shri Shishu Pal Sori, Shri Indrashah Mandavi, Shri U.D. Minj, Shri Chandradev Rai, Shri Vikas Upadhyay, MLA Shri Sant Kumar Netam, Shri Brihaspat Singh, Smt. Laxmi Dhruva and prominent office bearers of the tribal society were present. Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel took one by one the office bearers of the all-tribal society included in the delegation. Heard their words. On this occasion, the Chief Minister announced the formation of a cabinet sub-committee and a committee of secretaries of all departments related to tribal interests under the chairmanship of the Chief Secretary for hearing and resolving the problems of tribal society. He asked the officers of the Sarva Adivasi Samaj, especially the retired senior administrative officers, to keep all the matters related to the welfare of the tribal society and protection of their constitutional interest before the secretary level committee and discuss it in detail. Welcoming all the office bearers of the Sarva Adivasi Samaj, who arrived at the Chief Minister’s residence, the Chief Minister said that a fruitful discussion has been held with all of you on many issues today. He said that due to the corona transition period, work has not been done at the fast pace in many cases, which was expected. During the lockdown, there was concern about keeping people safe and providing them facilities. During this, there was also the challenge of purchasing minor forest produce. Chhattisgarh government has overcome every challenge through better management. The Chief Minister said that all the cases have been resolved as per the recommendations of Patnaik Committee constituted for redressal of cases registered against tribals. Remaining court cases are also being disposed off expeditiously. The Chief Minister called for active cooperation from the officials of Sarva Adivasi Samaj in getting the land lease in their villages to the families who went from South Bastar region to other states for the purpose of employment. The Chief Minister said that after examining the canceled claims of forest land, the State Government has so far given lease to more than 50 thousand forest dwellers. Schools closed for years in Sukma district have been restarted. The government has given lease of revenue land to more than one thousand people in 14 villages of Abujhmad area and has also purchased paddy from them at support price. The Chief Minister said that apart from resolving the problems related to the generation of caste certificates of the people of the tribal society, expeditiously solving the cases of fake caste certificates. The Chief Minister said that education and health has been a big challenge in the tribal areas of the state. . In two and a half years, the government has made efforts to improve health and education in the areas of Vananchal. The shortage of doctors and teachers has been filled. This is the reason that now there is no demand for teachers and doctors by the representatives and people of Vananchal. The Chief Minister said that our government has clearly decided that tribal land will not be acquired for industries. In Vananchal, 50 to 100 acres of government land required for small scale industries based on forest produce will be allotted. He said that from forest produce to purchase of minor cereal crops and value addition work has been started, due to which employment opportunities have increased in Vananchal and tribal farmers and collectors have started getting more income. Camps are also being organized by the government to provide basic facilities to the people of remote forest and to solve their problems. B.L. Thakur, Shri B.P.S.
