After giving ownership of land use to the forest dwellers who have been occupying forest land for years in the forest areas of Bilaspur district, the process of benefiting them from the schemes of various departments of the government has been started so that their standard of living can be changed and that too. Join the mainstream of development and achieve progress and prosperity. The number of forest land lease holders in Bilaspur district is more than 6 thousand. With the initiative of the district administration, so far more than five and a half thousand forest lease holders have been benefited from the convergence of various schemes. Along with making the leased forest land suitable for cultivation, the government is engaged in connecting them with livelihood activities like irrigation, fertilizer-seed, animal husbandry, fisheries. Pucca housing facility is also being provided to forest land lease holders on priority. Under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, housing has been made available to 4 thousand 360 beneficiaries on the land obtained under forest rights in Bilasuper district. Leveling and bunding work has been done in 191.350 hectares of land of 617 beneficiaries who have received individual forest rights letters. For which Rs 2 crore 27 lakh 38 thousand was approved by the government. With the convergence of MGNREGA, sheds were constructed for goat rearing and poultry farming in more than 40 hectares of land of 80 beneficiaries. Tube wells, wells, stop dams for irrigation facilities in the fields of 472 beneficiaries and Nadep tanka and vermi for livelihood. 6 crore 20 lakh 40 thousand rupees have been approved for compost manure production. For irrigation, Rs.4 crore 30 lakh 56 thousand was spent for construction of dubri on land of 368 beneficiaries and Rs.1 crore 85 lakh 78 thousand was spent for construction of well on land of 84 beneficiaries. For livelihood, 11 beneficiaries have been made nadep tanka in their land at a cost of Rs. 1 lakh 54 thousand and 9 beneficiaries have been sanctioned Rs. 2.5 lakh for vermi compost production. For sustainable livelihood means, construction of pucca platform on the land of 60 beneficiaries for animal husbandry, poultry and goat rearing etc. is being done at a cost of Rs.32 lakh 40 thousand.
