LUCKNOW:  A day after the Supreme Court ordered demolition of the 40-storeyed Supertech Emerald Court twin tower in Noida, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath directed Noida Authority to set up a special investigation team to look into the alleged collusion of officials with the builder so that strict action could be taken against the guilty.

Promptly complying with the CM’s order, Noida chief executive officer Ritu Maheshwari constituted a team of officials that has been entrusted with the probe into the “collusion”.

At a high-level meeting on Wednesday, the CM called for a thorough investigation into the role of officers and employees of various departments, including Noida Authority. He said the nexus between the officials and the builders should be exposed and criminal cases should be registered against the guilty, if need be. Departmental proceedings have also been initiated against the employees at the helm and who did not make the higher authorities aware of all the facts.
