School Education Minister Dr. Premsai Singh Tekam has said that education is an indicator of progress of society and country. Children are like raw clay. The principal and teachers of the school make their future by carving like a potter. Dr. Tekam expressed the views of this effect in the 10-day residential training program of the principals of Swami Atmanand Government Excellent English Medium School at Administration Academy, Nimora today. This training is being given from 23 August which will be till 1 September. School Education Minister Shri Tekam told the principals that parents have sent their children to study with confidence in the Government English Medium School. Do not let the principal lose the trust of the parents of the children. He said that all kinds of better arrangements have been made in 172 government English medium schools operating in the state. There the all-round development of the children has to take place. Principal and teachers should use their knowledge in shaping the future of the children. The education system of these schools should be such that children are eager to study here. Minister Dr. Tekam said that Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel has a sensitive thinking that even children from financially weak families can study in English medium school. Swami Atmanand ji established a high level education center in Narayanpur Ashram for the upliftment of forest dwellers. Inspired by this, the Chief Minister has started government English medium schools in the name of Swami Atmanand. Principals will get to know and learn a lot in the training. School Education Secretary Dr. Kamalpreet Singh said that the principals of government English medium schools have been entrusted with great responsibility. The work of showing the way to others will be done by the principal here. The entire state will see the work done by the principals of these schools. He said that the school principals should have the quality of management and teaching. Management can learn by doing or from the experience of others. Principals will have to increase their capacity to discharge the responsibility of running a school of excellence. If there are any shortcomings during the training, then also tell them. Director of Academy of Administration Shri T.C. Mahawar said that the purpose of training is to provide quality education to the children. Director State Council of Educational Research and Training Shri D. Rahul Venkat said that training is being imparted in the planning of the school, role of principals, how to face the challenges in the field area and motivation etc. He informed that a cell has been constituted by the State Council of Educational Research and Training to assist the principals of Government English Medium Schools. Dr. Yogesh Shivhare, Additional Director, State Council of Educational Research and Training also addressed the training program.
