NEW DELHI: Exercise Malabar began on Thursday. It is an important maritime exercise featuring the navies of the US, India, Japan and Australia, the group informally called QUAD.
“Indian Navy is participating in the sea phase of Exercise Malabar from 26-29 August,” said a statement. The Navy says it is a testimony to the synergy between these navies and their shared vision for a free and inclusive Indo-Pacific region
“This would witness complex exercises including anti-surface, anti-air and anti-submarine drills,” said the statement. It will involve nine warships, three maritime surveillance aircraft and a submarine.
