Chief Minister made two big announcements – poor families will get free rice for five months from July to November

Bhupesh Baghel has announced to provide free rice for the month of July to November, giving a big relief to the poor families of the state due to Corona epidemic. Rice for five months will be given free of cost to all BPL ration card holders of the state from July to November. Along with this, the Chief Minister has also announced to give additional rice equivalent to PM Garib Kalyan Yojana to all ration cards issued under the State Food Security Act. With this announcement of the Chief Minister, 2 crore 51 lakh 46 thousand 424 members of 67 lakh 90 thousand 987 ration cards of the state will be benefited.
It is worth noting that in order to provide relief to the poor and needy families of the state, rice for the months of May and June has also been distributed free of cost under the Public Distribution System. Under the announcement of Chief Minister Mr. Baghel, now rice for the month of July to November will also be given free of cost to the poor families. With this decision, Antyodaya ration card, priority ration card, Annapurna ration card and ration card holders issued to destitute and handicapped will get benefit. Along with this, all ration card holders issued under the State Food Security Act will also be provided additional rice equivalent to PM Garib Kalyan Yojana.
