Patna’s festive Eid cheer was shattered by a chilling murder in the heart of the city. A furious husband, Mohammad Sonu, allegedly knifed his 24-year-old wife Zeba Parveen multiple times during a domestic quarrel near Pirbais Market under Alamganj police limits.
Eyewitness accounts reveal the argument ignited on Saturday evening in their modest rented accommodation. Losing control, Sonu inflicted deep wounds on Zeba’s abdomen, throat, and arms with a deadly blade. She bled profusely on the floor, her final moments witnessed by their innocent four-year-old boy.
The toddler’s piercing cry pierced the night as he fled to a relative’s home nearby, alerting his aunt and others. A frantic crowd gathered, transporting the critically injured woman to NMCH, but she succumbed to her wounds en route to recovery.
Law enforcement arrived promptly, launching a manhunt for the absconding suspect. The body underwent postmortem examination, while teams comb through local surveillance cameras for clues. Sonu remains at large, but police assure the public of his swift capture. Married just four years ago, the couple’s life ended in bloodshed, orphaning their young child.
As investigations deepen, this gruesome act serves as a stark reminder of festering marital issues. The neighborhood, usually buzzing with Eid festivities, now whispers in shock, demanding justice for Zeba and support for the traumatized family.
