In a rousing address in Haldwani, Union Defense Minister Rajnath Singh celebrated the BJP-led government’s four-year journey in Uttarakhand, singling out Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami for exceptional leadership. The event underscored breakthroughs in critical areas like infrastructure buildup, tourism surge, job creation, gender equality drives, and support for retired armed forces personnel.
Singh opened with deep reverence for Uttarakhand’s heritage. ‘Devbhoomi, the abode of gods and sages, embodies faith, knowledge, and honor,’ he remarked. ‘Its people blend serenity with steely resolve, much like the Himalayas that guard our nation.’
He vividly recalled election assurances, affirming Dhami’s unassailable lead that propelled BJP to absolute majority. ‘Dhami isn’t ordinary; he’s a force – from Dhakad to Dhurandhar,’ Singh quipped, marveling at how this small state achieved giant leaps no one anticipated.
Achievements under Dhami include robust infrastructure networks, thriving tourism circuits, burgeoning employment avenues, and robust women’s empowerment programs. Singh paid tribute to Uttarakhand’s warrior tradition, dubbing it Veerbhoomi where borders are defended with life and limb.
Key highlights for ex-servicemen: Implementation of long-pending One Rank One Pension, state aids for shahid families, quotas in education and employment, and enhanced payouts for gallantry awardees. The Char Dham all-weather roads promise year-round access, boosting pilgrim footfall and economic vitality.
Singh stressed safeguarding Uttarakhand’s spiritual purity, applauding the removal of thousands of illegal occupations under Dhami. On international tensions in West Asia, he praised PM Modi’s peace advocacy. ‘The world now listens intently to India,’ he said, foreseeing challenges like energy shortages but unwavering faith in Modi’s vision.
Four years on, this government’s scorecard demands standing ovation, blending cultural preservation with modern development for a prosperous Uttarakhand.
