From her exile, Bangladesh’s ousted leader Sheikh Hasina delivered an emotional Eid message that stirred hearts across the nation. Addressing Awami League faithful on Saturday, she linked the festival’s true happiness to her party’s triumphant return.
‘The real happiness of Eid will arrive in the moment of our victory,’ Hasina stated in a post on X, underscoring her dedication to the people’s liberty despite physical distance from Dhaka.
Drawing lessons from Ramadan’s discipline, she advocated for a world built on harmony, respect, and shared prosperity. Hasina extended prayers for universal safety and prosperity, envisioning Eid as a beacon for every toiling citizen.
Under her tenure, she highlighted relentless pushes to eradicate poverty and counter domestic and international schemes targeting the vulnerable. Yet, a grand conspiracy has since shattered the dreams of the impoverished, she charged.
Since the upheaval of August 5, 2024, Bangladesh resembles a fortress of oppression, with freethinking voices—journalists, authors, and political figures—imprisoned en masse. Hasina shared her grief for these innocents and their loved ones.
‘I may not be there with you, but trust me: the daughter of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman stands ready, with divine blessings, to give her life for your emancipation and the nation’s future,’ she declared passionately.
Hasina didn’t spare the Yunus-led interim regime, accusing its aggressive policies of worsening a global economic slump fueled by regional conflicts. Ordinary folks in Bangladesh bear the brunt, unable to sustain basic livelihoods.
In a rallying cry, she implored affluent segments of society to aid the underprivileged, ensuring Eid’s blessings reach every corner and transform lives with real happiness.
