In a vibrant display of youthful vigor, the 9th North East Youth Festival 2026 was inaugurated at Chumoukedima Football Stadium in Nagaland. This flagship event, supported by the central Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports and the state department, unites over a thousand participants from the Northeast.
Governor Nand Kishor Yadav graced the opening, thanking the ministry for the opportunity. He heartily greeted delegates from the eight states, MY Bharat volunteers, and NSS members, noting how their gathering promotes national integration.
Emphasizing the theme ‘Ashtalakshmi: Celebrate Eight Forces of Youth and Progress,’ Yadav described it as a tribute to the region’s dynamic youth power. He called on attendees to immerse in events, forge bonds, and play pivotal roles in India’s development by 2047.
The Governor commended the collaborative efforts of organizers. In his address, Advisor S. Koishu Yimkhiung portrayed the festival as a grand showcase of diverse talents and unity.
‘Participate with full enthusiasm, respect each other’s cultures, and make the most of this platform,’ he advised. Expect a packed schedule of competitions, exhibitions, and interactive sessions aimed at skill-building and camaraderie.
