As West Bengal gears up for Assembly polls, TMC has unveiled its full list of candidates, nominating Mohammad Tausif Rahman for Bashirhat Uttar. In his first reaction post-ticket announcement, Rahman dismissed any notion of a tough fight, predicting a smooth sail to victory.
In an interview here, the TMC hopeful credited the party’s grassroots machinery. ‘There’s no battle ahead because Didi and the party are with the people. Mamata Banerjee is the only face that matters across all seats,’ he declared confidently.
Rahman drew an analogy to diligent students versus procrastinators. ‘TMC workers toil every single day of the year. Unlike others who make 150-seat boasts only before elections, we don’t fear because our work speaks for itself.’
On generational shift, he noted, ‘Youth is a key factor this election. But merit trumps age. If a leader, regardless of 50 years, performs and stays fit, they earn their place.’
Grateful to Mamata and Abhishek Banerjee, Rahman revealed the party’s culture of non-stop effort was his only prior knowledge before the ticket. This nomination signals TMC’s trust in emerging leaders, positioning Bashirhat Uttar as another easy win in their arsenal.
