Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav celebrated Ujjain’s timeless stature as a worldwide center for wisdom, innovation, and introspection during the 30th annual convocation of Maharaja Vikramaditya University. He revealed that even Lord Krishna selected this holy city for his scholarly pursuits.
The event honored academic excellence: 181 degrees, 198 gold medals, a prestigious D-Litt to one researcher, and PhDs to 88 others. Governor Mangubhai Patel, the chancellor, spoke of Ujjain’s enchanting vibe that transforms visitors. He shared how a former student here ascended to lead the state, motivating the fresh graduates.
‘Carry the university’s ethos throughout life,’ Patel advised. ‘Repay your parents’ hardships through service, remain grateful to gurus, and use your education to foster national unity and societal growth. True learning crafts responsible patriots.’
Yadav portrayed Ujjain as the cradle of 64 kalas and 14 vidyas, eternally tied to Emperor Vikramaditya, champion of justice and Indian heritage. This convocation symbolizes decades of dedication yielding top-tier talent, elevating the institution’s global standing.
For graduates, it’s a fortunate milestone. Yadav stressed that convocation heralds continuous education, essential for personal and collective advancement. The university boasts alumni like poet Shivmangal Singh Suman and Padma Shri Vishnu Shridhar Wakankar, pioneering courses in agriculture and dairy technology.
In development pledges, he allocated Rs 51 lakh for tools, drones for farm studies, and a bus for educational tours. Madhya Pradesh thrives under PM Modi, marking 2026 for farmer welfare. Simhastha 2028 preparations include pilgrim pathways, sanitation, and tech support for devotees bathing in Mother Kshipra.
These alumni, he assured, will propel state and national progress with commitment.
