In a bold statement amid international geopolitical strife, Samajwadi Party MP ST Hasan declared India a safe haven for Hindus and Muslims alike. As Iran-US-Israel conflicts unleash missile barrages on Muslim nations, Hasan told IANS that only a fringe 5 percent poses any risk in India, with the vast majority coexisting peacefully.
Drawing stark comparisons, he pointed out that Arab states enjoy true religious liberty—no bulldozers on mosques, and even magnificent temples are built there. ‘Falling missiles abroad don’t reflect our reality,’ Hasan emphasized.
He reminisced about a bygone era 14 years back when interfaith love defined India. The current regime, however, has introduced discrimination and wounded religious feelings, a phenomenon rarer in Islamic countries, according to him.
Addressing strikes in Gulf hubs like Dubai and Qatar, Hasan noted they hit US military sites and oil refineries owned partly by America, sparing ordinary citizens. Life goes on vibrantly in their markets.
Slamming BJP’s Sangeet Som for his ‘Mughal’ jibe at Akhilesh Yadav, Hasan urged him to recognize his diminished stature within his party. ‘Akhilesh embodies unity as a devout Hindu. Why does BJP polarize on faith? Mughals built, they didn’t just conquer,’ he countered.
On Giriraj Singh’s Bengal rhetoric, Hasan labeled it divisive misinformation. ‘Central government handles citizenship, not states—they’re misleading the public.’
Hasan welcomed child social media restrictions in southern states, linking unchecked internet content to rising crimes against children. ‘Great step, but execution will be key,’ he said, wrapping up on an optimistic note for societal protection.
