BYD is shaking up the electric vehicle world with the launch of its Blade Battery 2.0, a cutting-edge powerpack that delivers more than 1,000 km of range per CLTC testing. Announced amid growing demand for superior EV tech, this battery combines unprecedented endurance, blistering charge speeds, and top-tier safety features.
Compared to the first-generation Blade Battery’s 600 km range, the 2.0 version doubles down on efficiency through advanced high energy density materials. Its standout flash charging tech propels the battery from 10% to 70% in a mere five minutes, and up to 97% in nine minutes normally. Remarkably resilient in harsh winters, it handles -30°C exposure for a full day and still charges from 20% to 97% in 12 minutes.
Undergoing stringent safety validations like nail penetration and impact tests, the battery exceeds national benchmarks in China. First deployment comes via the Yangwang U7 luxury sedan, packing a 150 kWh unit for 1,006 km of CLTC range. This isn’t just an upgrade—it’s a paradigm shift that could accelerate mass EV adoption worldwide, challenging competitors to keep pace in the battery arms race.
