Garhwa district police announced a major breakthrough in the sensational murder of Deepak Choudhary, gunned down in broad daylight at Bizka market. The arrests of Vijay Singh, Jethu Singh, and Sarju Choudhary, coupled with the recovery of the pistol and two bikes, have brought closure to a case that horrified the region.
On the evening of February 25, as the market teemed with evening shoppers, tragedy struck. Deepak, selling vegetables in Bhandaria’s busy Bizka bazaar, became the target of a ruthless ambush. An attacker unleashed three shots at close range, leaving him writhing in agony on the ground. Chaos gripped the area as terrified bystanders scattered.
With help from locals, Deepak was hurried to Medininagar’s MMC Hospital but succumbed to his injuries. A resident of Fakiradih village, his death over a petty land row has highlighted rising tensions in rural Jharkhand.
SP Garhwa wasted no time, mobilizing a crack team under Ranka SDPO’s command. Through meticulous evidence analysis and informant tips, they zeroed in on the trio. Sarju Choudhary, locked in a bitter property dispute with Deepak, orchestrated the hit with his accomplices’ aid.
‘We recovered the crime weapons and vehicles on the spot,’ a senior officer stated. Charges have been filed, and interrogations continue to uncover any broader networks. The community breathes a sigh of relief, but calls for stronger measures against feud-driven violence grow louder.
