Prime Minister Narendra Modi spotlighted Sanand’s evolution into a powerhouse of progress during his Gujarat tour. Posting a roadshow video on X, he celebrated the area’s shift from obscurity to a beacon of innovation.
The roadshow on a hot Saturday afternoon drew massive crowds, showcasing public enthusiasm for ongoing development initiatives. PM Modi’s message read: ‘Sanand’s transformation is extraordinary. From a simple town to a lively center of development and innovation—Saturday’s event proved the people’s heartfelt support.’
A highlight was the launch of Micron Technology’s state-of-the-art ATMP facility, a ₹22,500 crore project under the India Semiconductor Mission. Sanctioned in September 2023, it represents India’s first such approval, with rapid construction underscoring policy efficiency.
The facility will house a massive 500,000 sq ft cleanroom, one of the largest globally, tailored for advanced memory and storage amid booming AI demands. This venture promises to cater to international markets, enhancing India’s tech footprint.
‘Sanand heralds a new future,’ PM Modi declared. He praised the swift regulatory reforms, like fast-tracking APAs, contrasting sharply with timelines in advanced economies. This agility stems from resolute national vision.
The initiative aligns with ‘Make in India,’ propelling semiconductor manufacturing and creating thousands of jobs. Sanand’s rise exemplifies how targeted investments and people-centric governance can redefine regions, setting a template for nationwide growth.
