Sheikhpura’s Sarva Panchayat buzzed with activity on National Science Day as Sampoorna Abhiyan 2.0 unfolded at Anganwadi Center 156. This government-backed campaign, running through April, seeks to empower aspirational areas with knowledge on health, nutrition, and sanitation.
Attendees included Munni Kumari, the panchayat rep, alongside top officials like the Deputy Development Commissioner, planning and ICDS officers, Jivika’s DPM, BDO and CO of Barhiga, hospital head, and CDPO. Discussions centered on improving mother-child health, spotting TB early, streamlining nutrition delivery, and modernizing Anganwadi centers.
Highlights included traditional rituals like godh bharai for expecting mothers and annaprashan for infants, coupled with practical tips on safe pregnancies and baby care. Study materials went to young kids, and teens got sessions on diet, cleanliness, and water safety, plus hygiene kits.
Anemia checks by health workers led to medicine distribution, with strong advocacy for hygienic periods and nutritious meals. The crowd was warned about open defecation dangers and motivated for latrine use. Speakers from Anganwadi and health teams drove home that holistic wellness demands cleanliness, secure surroundings, and physical activity beyond just food.
A healthy foundation for society starts with empowered women and girls, they affirmed. The program successfully rallied the community towards better health practices, promising sustained impact.
