Uttar Pradesh is witnessing a healthcare revolution as Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath extends Ayushman Bharat scheme benefits to every cantonment hospital in the state. This bold step promises free, high-quality treatment for millions of cardholders at premier military facilities.
Following the triumphant rollout at Prayagraj Cantonment Hospital on January 26, the government is fast-tracking MoUs with the remaining 12 hospitals. SHA officials have nearly finalized the paperwork, targeting key locations like Lucknow, Kanpur, and Varanasi.
At Prayagraj, patients have accessed cutting-edge care in fields like heart disease, kidney ailments, and cancer, all at no cost. Free consultations, tests, and ambulance services have yielded impressive results, inspiring the broader implementation.
The expansion covers 12 more sites, enhancing the Ayushman network’s reach. Dr. Puja Yadav noted that these hospitals’ advanced expertise will be invaluable for complex cases, with dedicated transport ensuring no beneficiary is left behind due to mobility issues.
Technical alignments are underway to link these hospitals to the Ayushman portal, guaranteeing transparent processes from admission to reimbursement. By opening cantonment resources to civilians, the Yogi administration is reducing pressure on civilian hospitals while delivering relief to the needy.
This policy shift marks a new era in inclusive healthcare, blending defense medical prowess with public welfare. Families facing medical emergencies can now breathe easier, knowing world-class care is within reach under the golden card.
