West Singhbhum’s administrative machinery is in full swing ahead of the 2026 municipal elections. A key milestone was achieved Thursday with the conclusion of specialized training for vote-counting staff at Chaibasa’s Scott Hindi Balika Middle School.
High-ranking officials, including District Election Officer-cum-Deputy Commissioner Chandan Kumar, SP Amit Renu, and observer Ejaz Anwar, made rounds through the training rooms, offering on-the-spot guidance and stressing procedural accuracy.
The session drew senior administrators like Deputy Development Commissioner Utkarsh Kumar, ITDA head Jaydeep Tigga, Deputy Collector Kumar Harsh, and Education Superintendent Praveen Kumar, with master trainers leading the charge. Emphasis was placed on conducting counts with complete fairness and in a peaceful atmosphere.
Participants were briefed that vote tallies for Chaibasa and Chakradharpur councils will begin February 27 at 8 AM in Women’s College, Chaibasa. 168 dedicated staffers, encompassing observers and backups, stand ready after thorough role-specific orientations.
In-depth demonstrations highlighted ballot box presentation protocols before candidates and agents, proper seal opening, ballot segregation, and error-free counting methods. Directives were unambiguous: follow rules to the letter for a transparent, orderly process devoid of controversies.
This proactive training initiative not only equips the workforce but also signals the district’s resolve for impeccable electoral standards. With local democracy at stake, such measures promise confidence in the outcomes and smooth transition to new civic leadership.
