Union Home Minister Amit Shah delivered a powerful message in Bihar’s Araria on Thursday, vowing to cleanse India of every infiltrator. ‘We will identify and expel each one from our land – this is the Modi government’s unshakeable determination, not just a poll rhetoric,’ he proclaimed.
The event marked the virtual inauguration of Border Out Posts Leti and Indarwa, alongside e-dedications for multiple SSB initiatives. Shah detailed progress on the 556-km India-Nepal border road project, where 14 of 18 segments are done and the rest nearing completion. This development will bolster monitoring, citizen services, and border-area growth.
Commending SSB personnel for safeguarding the Nepal frontier – a bond of friendship – Shah urged heightened alertness. ‘Enemies of the nation could misuse this amicable border. Strengthen intelligence sources and foster ties with locals in frontier villages for real-time intel,’ he advised.
In a bold announcement, Shah revealed plans to raze illegal structures within 10 km of borders and launch deportation drives. Demographic shifts from infiltration have hit Bengal, Jharkhand, and Bihar hardest. ‘Bengal elections are underway; I’m confident BJP will form the government, prioritizing fence completion and intruder removal,’ he predicted.
Shah made an emotional appeal to Seemanchal residents: ‘I need your backing to fulfill this pledge. Remind me of it. These infiltrators steal from the poor’s rations, block jobs for our youth, and endanger our security. The drive starts soon in this region.’ His words underscore a zero-tolerance policy on illegal immigration.
