Bollywood star Celina Jaitly, navigating a difficult phase due to her brother’s prolonged detention in the UAE, was deeply moved by the affection of an army family sister. Retired Major Vikrant Kumar Jaitly’s situation has tested the family’s resilience, but a simple act of kindness brought unexpected comfort.
Taking to Instagram, Celina posted a picture in an elegant stone grey kantha sari with beautiful parrot motifs. The post detailed how ‘fauji behen’ Sameera treated her like family. ‘In the rush of life, I’d forgotten the joy of a sister gifting and draping a sari,’ Celina captioned.
Sameera didn’t stop at handing over the sari. She meticulously pinned it, created perfect pleats, and enveloped Celina in it as if providing armor. Adding to the intimacy, she adorned Celina with bangles, straightened her earrings, captured moments on camera, adjusted the pallu, and placed a bindi just right.
‘These little things made me realize I’m not fighting alone,’ Celina reflected emotionally. The sari held special history, acquired during Sameera’s husband’s Bengal assignment. It evoked memories of Celina’s mother dressing her in kantha saris during childhood—symbols of affection and honor that had been absent for years.
‘That sense of tranquility washed over me again,’ she added. As a Kumaoni woman, Celina draws fortitude from Nanda Devi’s blessings and the mountains’ cradle. ‘Peace sneaks in silently—through pleats, choodas, and sisterly warmth. Still protected by kin. Love you, Sameera.’
From a family steeped in military tradition—father an army colonel, mother a nurse, brother a major—Celina’s story highlights the quiet strength of fauji bonds. This heartwarming episode offers a beacon of support as she faces ongoing challenges.
