In a display of batting prowess, Jammu and Kashmir dominated day two of the Ranji Trophy 2025-26 Elite final in Hubli. Ending at a massive 527 for 6, they have Karnataka on the back foot after electing to bat first.
The innings started shakily with Kamran Iqbal out for 6, but Yawar Hasan (88, 13 fours) and Shubham Pundir resurrected it through a 139-run alliance. Captain Paras Dogra, who retired hurt early for 9, watched Pundir (121, 12×4, 2×6) partner Abdul Samad (61) for 124 to cross 300.
Resuming on day two, Dogra unleashed with Kanhaiya Wadhawan, who scored a brisk 70 (9 fours). Dogra followed with 70 (8 fours), sharing 54 with Sahil Lotra. Unbeaten at stumps, Lotra smashed 57 (97 balls, 7 fours) and Abid Mushtaq 20 (2 fours), adding 56 unbroken.
Karnataka bowlers struggled, led by Prasidd Krishna’s 3 scalps. Others like Patil, Gopal, and Shetty picked one apiece. With momentum firmly in their grasp, J&K eyes a declaration to test Karnataka’s batting.
