Excitement is building in Bhagalpur as its metro project gains momentum. Phase one survey reports are in, and phase two fieldwork has begun across critical zones. Construction gears up as soon as approvals come through.
Field teams are covering Nathnagar’s Nastarkhani, Rattipur-Bairia, Champanagar, Purani Sarai, Rampur Khurd, Maheshpur, Aliganj, and Sabour’s Sardho-Jiccho regions. Assessments focus on station placements, route directions, and engineering viability. The outcome? A high-resolution digital blueprint detailing infrastructure like structures, pathways, waterways, terrain, aquifers, and pipelines—essential for project execution.
Two corridors anchor the system: a 17-km East-West link from Sabour to Champanagar and a 12-km North-South route from Bhagalpur to Vatuvihar, hosting 22 stations total. An interchange at Bhagalpur station will enable effortless switches between lines, enhancing passenger experience.
Metro yard sites are being evaluated in Jagdishpur (three locations) and Nathnagar’s university vicinity, designated for stabling, servicing, and technical needs.
Traffic jams that plague daily commutes will soon be history, with faster journeys fostering business and city expansion. Bhagalpur’s metro dream edges closer with every survey milestone.
