In a biting critique, UP Minister Om Prakash Rajbhar has exposed former CM Akhilesh Yadav’s discomfort with the BJP government’s success story. Nine straight years without communal riots in Uttar Pradesh—a feat under Yogi Adityanath—has the Samajwadi Party chief sweating over his relevance.
Speaking candidly in Lucknow, Rajbhar painted a picture of unprecedented development: gleaming metro lines snaking through cities, expansive expressways connecting far-flung areas, and a law enforcement machinery that ensures peace prevails. ‘Yogi ji has established the rule of law,’ he declared, crediting PM Narendra Modi’s vision for uplifting OBCs and Dalits.
Akhilesh, according to Rajbhar, fears isolation in the next polls. His once-reliable Muslim support could evaporate as communities embrace BJP’s inclusive growth agenda. The minister’s words cut deep, suggesting SP’s formula of caste and communal politics is obsolete.
The exchange escalated over Swami Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati. Akhilesh accused BJP of insulting true saints and using police to suppress voices against their ‘atrocities.’ Rajbhar fired back, recalling SP’s own dark history in 1990 when party members brutalized the swami. ‘Check your records, Akhilesh ji,’ he advised.
As UP hurtles towards modernization, Rajbhar’s remarks signal a confident BJP eyeing dominance, while Akhilesh grapples with a changing political landscape defined by peace, not provocation.
