A chilling mystery unfolded in Delhi’s Mayur Vihar on Tuesday as a hired driver’s lifeless body was found locked inside a Honda City sedan in Star City Mall’s basement parking. The grim find has left locals on edge and sparked a full-scale police inquiry.
Mall employees spotted the suspicious car early morning, its glasses fogged and unmoving for over 12 hours. Breaking in, they confronted the horrifying sight of the man sprawled motionless. He was declared dead on the spot.
Mayur Vihar police swiftly arrived, cordoned off the area, and transported the remains for autopsy. No visible signs of violence or fight were apparent inside the vehicle, puzzling investigators. Theories range from self-inflicted harm to accidental asphyxiation in the confined space, though murder isn’t ruled out.
The vehicle is registered to Gaurav from the on-site HDFC Life branch, who reportedly booked the driver via a digital platform. Efforts are underway to notify kin and scrutinize the driver’s background.
Heightened vigilance now surrounds the mall premises. CCTV recordings are being dissected frame by frame to reconstruct the timeline. Police vow to crack the case soon, urging witnesses to come forward as the community reels from the unnerving event.
