A whirlwind romance between a young teacher and her elderly principal has taken Bihar by storm, blending love, controversy, and a newborn’s arrival. Shaishta Parveen, 28, married 60-year-old Rakesh Sah in a secret ceremony in Nepal’s Janakpur on February 18. Astonishingly, she gave birth to their daughter on February 21 in Sitamarhi, just 72 hours later.
What began as workplace conversations in 2025 blossomed into deep affection, defying societal norms of age and faith. The duo opted for Nepal to evade Indian scrutiny, exchanging vows in a Hindu ceremony. But joy turned to chaos when wedding clips surfaced online, prompting outrage in Muzaffarpur.
Shaishta’s family cried foul. Her brother lodged an FIR at Aurai police station, branding the union as abduction and forced conversion. He alleged Rakesh intimidated and lured Shaishta away from school, involving his own family in the plot.
Countering the narrative, Shaishta addressed the public via video from her hospital room, where she’s under police watch post-delivery. ‘This was my deliberate decision,’ she asserted. ‘Our relationship dates back to 2025. Please don’t trouble Sir with lies.’
Aurai SHO Sanowar Praveen revealed police traced Shaishta promptly. Due to her fragile post-partum state, she’s receiving care in custody. Manhunt intensifies for fugitive Rakesh. Post-recovery, court appearance awaits for her testimony. Medical reports assure the well-being of the newborn and mother.
This saga raises probing questions on consent, interfaith unions, and family honor in modern India. With social media amplifying divides, the case tests legal and cultural boundaries.
