In a bold move to transform Madhya Pradesh’s agrarian landscape, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav announced comprehensive strategies linking fields to factories and gardens to marketplaces. Speaking virtually at the ongoing Krishi Manthan and Agri-Tech Fair 2026 in Gwalior, he positioned farmers at the heart of the state’s economic revival.
‘Farmers fuel our markets with their hard work,’ Yadav stated, hailing them as the economy’s foundation. By designating 2026 as Farmer Welfare Year, the government aims to forge an unbroken chain of value enhancement, revolutionizing processing units, seed innovation, animal husbandry, dairy, and aquaculture.
These efforts will generate employment-rich industries, ensuring farmers reap maximum benefits from their produce. Parallelly, irrigation networks are expanding swiftly via river linking projects, while production of high-value medicinal and spice crops receives top priority.
A new Agri-Export Policy is on the horizon, complemented by ramped-up research to modernize cultivation of crops and fruits. Yadav reaffirmed commitment to turning farming into a lucrative enterprise through cutting-edge tech and support systems.
The conclave’s focus on ‘Prosperous Farmers for a Prosperous MP’ promises actionable insights for on-ground changes. Emphasizing modern agri-sectors, the administration is fostering processing hubs, tech integration, and entrepreneurial opportunities for village youth to spark widespread employment.
Amid rising climate risks, Yadav called on experts to ideate breakthrough technologies, ensuring sustainable growth for the state’s vital agriculture sector.
