Baloda Bazar buzzed with spiritual fervor as Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai joined devotees at the annual Sant Samagam and Guru Darshan Mela in Giroudpuri Dham on February 22. The site, sacred as Baba Guru Ghasidas’ birthplace and tapas sthal, became a hub of faith and festivity.
After paying obeisance at the Pooja Guru Gaddi, CM Sai prayed for the state’s happiness and growth. In his address, he lauded Ghasidas’ philosophy of universal equality – ‘every heart is alike’ – as a bridge connecting humanity and promoting social cohesion.
Sai reaffirmed that his administration is actively implementing Ghasidas’ guidance in governance. He detailed investments in Giroudpuri’s infrastructure, from the grand Jaitkham project to improved amenities, crediting the local administration for seamless execution.
Innovative digital tools like a dedicated website and app were highlighted, allowing pilgrims easy access to services. The CM scanned a QR code on-site, showcasing these modern facilitations to the audience.
A touching moment came when Sai handed out temple prasad, delighting self-help group women and locals. The mega event, spanning three days until February 24, 2026, attracts Satnam followers globally.
Meticulous planning ensures safety and comfort: over 1,100 cops, comprehensive CCTV coverage, medical support with ambulances and camps, water supply via tankers and taps, sanitation with hundreds of toilets and cleaners, power backups, and fire tenders.
Dignitaries such as Guru Saurabh Saheb, MLA Rohit Sahu, District Panchayat Chair Navin Agarwal, and senior officials graced the occasion. Sai’s participation signals a governance model rooted in spiritual ethos, eyeing holistic state advancement.
