In a vibrant display of national health consciousness, New Delhi hosted the ‘Sunday on Cycle’ program as part of the Fit India Movement. ESIC joined the festivities to commemorate 75 years of service, with sports icons and fitness advocates leading the charge. Former hockey player Rupinder Pal Singh, cyclists Tanvi and Sweety Malik, choreographer Atul Jindal, and veteran rider Sushil Antil drew massive crowds to the pedals.
Rupinder Pal Singh lauded the government’s fitness push. ‘Prime Minister’s Fit India drive is inspiring citizens to stay active,’ he told reporters. Excited about the Commonwealth Games returning to India after two decades, he said, ‘This is a dream for athletes playing on home soil. Our medals tally should soar higher.’ He motivated all to make physical activity a habit, beyond just cycling.
The atmosphere was electric, as Tanvi observed: ‘Pride swells seeing such dedication before dawn.’ Atul Jindal advocated for cycling in routines. ‘It’s perfect for health and eco-friendliness,’ he stated. Guest Sweety Malik beamed at the crowd’s commitment, while 65-year-old Sushil Antil called on the youth: ‘Ditch mobiles, join Fit India, and build stamina.’
This cycle rally not only celebrated ESIC’s milestone but also amplified the call for nationwide wellness. With upcoming global events, such gatherings are fueling a fitness revolution across demographics, proving age is no barrier to an active life.
