In a significant breakthrough, Delhi Police apprehended two notorious drug traffickers from Trilokpuri on February 21, building on leads from main suspect Ameen Khan’s phone records. The duo, 27-year-old Asif and 42-year-old Ikrar, both locals, formed the inner circle of the operation.
These men handled the gritty end of the supply chain, sourcing smack directly from Ameen and pushing it into Delhi’s streets. Their confessions during custody painted a clear picture of routine transactions fueling addiction in the community.
Compounding their crimes, Asif and Ikrar were fugitives in another narcotics case at Mayur Vihar station, facing charges under key NDPS provisions. Police had mobilized to hunt them down even before this bust.
With five members now in custody, the focus shifts to mapping the syndicate’s outer layers. Teams are tracing international links, local distributors, and procurement sources to choke the flow at its roots.
Delhi’s top brass reiterated their iron-fist policy against narcotics, promising relentless pursuit. This case underscores the persistent threat of drug syndicates and the police’s unwavering resolve to protect public health.
