After a 20-year absence, Kanishk Narayan, the UK’s Artificial Intelligence Minister from Muzaffarpur, Bihar, has returned to his homeland. His arrival in Patna on Friday morning marked an emotional milestone, greeted by JD(U) MP Sanjay Jha.
In candid remarks to reporters, Narayan reflected on his journey. ‘Returning to Bihar after more than 20 years feels incredible. This is my birthplace, and the development I’ve witnessed is inspiring. In the UK, we’re pushing AI boundaries, much like the progress unfolding here,’ he shared.
Jha hosted Narayan at his Patna home, emphasizing his guest’s roots. ‘He’s a UK minister and citizen, but forever a son of Muzaffarpur. This long-awaited return is special,’ Jha said.
The itinerary includes high-level talks with Bihar officials in the afternoon, focusing on AI opportunities. This could foster stronger UK-Bihar partnerships in emerging technologies.
Optimistic about Bihar’s future, Jha credited CM Nitish Kumar’s leadership. ‘The world is interconnected, and Bihar is rising with tech. From agriculture to healthcare and services, AI holds immense potential. We’ve created a launchpad for limitless growth. Bihar, the agricultural powerhouse, is poised to lead,’ he declared.
Narayan’s visit highlights the influence of Non-Resident Indians in global roles and Bihar’s evolution into a tech-savvy state, opening doors for international collaboration.
