India’s AI Summit has emerged as a powerful symbol of the nation’s technological ascent, captivating global leaders and innovators. BJP’s Tarun Chugh, in a pointed response to Congress MP Shashi Tharoor’s remarks, described the event as irrefutable proof of India’s capabilities on the world stage.
The summit boasted extraordinary participation: 644 cutting-edge AI demos, CEOs from 41 international tech giants, representatives from 37 nations including 326 exhibitors, and a staggering footfall exceeding 250,000. Chugh, during an interview, attributed this success to PM Modi’s steadfast leadership.
A highlight was India’s unveiling of three homegrown LLMs, marking a pivotal stride in technological independence. Chugh framed this as a cornerstone of Viksit Bharat, reinforcing self-sufficiency in critical domains.
He didn’t shy away from geopolitics, claiming that India’s AI advancements unsettle adversaries like China and Pakistan. Intriguingly, he pointed fingers at Congress for echoing similar discomfort, calling it a misfortune for national progress.
Domestically, Chugh fired salvos at Himachal’s Congress regime for introducing entry tolls amid broken electoral pledges. From quirky taxes on toilets to tourism surcharges and fiscal tweaks at religious sites, these moves, he argued, exacerbate public hardship. Previous BJP concessions are vanishing, replaced by policies that inflate living costs.
Regarding ‘Kerala Story 2’, Chugh advocated for openness, arguing that exposing injustices against Kerala’s daughters and potential plots is essential. ‘Concealment breeds problems; awareness and intervention resolve them,’ he noted, emphasizing societal alertness.
BJP’s Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi weighed in on loudspeakers, advocating strict adherence to anti-noise laws across all gatherings. ‘Law knows no favorites—religious or otherwise. It’s a shared responsibility,’ he stated firmly.
This AI Summit not only spotlights India’s tech trajectory but also fuels debates on policy, security, and cultural narratives, shaping the political landscape ahead.
