At the prestigious 100-year milestone event of Shri Ram College of Commerce in New Delhi, Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan delivered a compelling message on India’s responsibilities towards the Global South. Interacting with the press on the National Education Policy and AI Impact Summit, he outlined a roadmap for futuristic leadership.
SRCC, founded in 1926, boasts a 25-year-old acclaimed school and a top-tier Global Business Operations center. Pradhan stressed that NEP is the key to preparing India’s new generation for a Viksit Bharat, demanding innovative young leaders. The AI Summit recently highlighted India’s exceptional innovation engine, which NEP must propel to new heights through proper execution.
Courses like those at SRCC and GBO are set to dominate leadership roles. Elevating GBO to Master’s status is under active consideration, with hopes of swift approval.
On India’s global role, Pradhan declared that the nation has embraced its duty to the Global South. Under PM Modi’s guidance, India is empowering needy countries via capacity building. The AI Summit exemplifies this, with India’s ‘Sarvam AI’ (IIT Madras) and ‘BharatGen’ (IIT Bombay), backed by government support, competing with world leaders.
Shifting from AI consumers to creators of sovereign tech, Pradhan called on the public to embrace these platforms, strengthening India’s economic fabric and global influence.
As India strides forward, such initiatives promise a tech-savvy youth leading the charge for equitable global progress.
