The untimely death of Ajit Pawar in a devastating plane crash continues to stir heated debates in Maharashtra politics. NCP spokesperson Anand Paranjape has reiterated his party’s longstanding call for an impartial investigation, slamming those injecting partisanship into the grief-stricken episode.
On that fateful day in Baramati, Pune, the aircraft carrying the veteran leader nosedived catastrophically, resulting in the loss of five lives including Pawar, the flight crew, and others on board. What began as a somber tragedy has morphed into a political battleground, with Pawar’s kin and supporters relentlessly advocating for a central agency-led inquiry.
In a pointed interview, Paranjape laid out the timeline of demands. Immediately after the crash, aviation officials promised a bureau-led probe during their Baramati visit. Chief Minister Fadnavis followed up with a CID announcement. Recently, a delegation including Prufull Patel, Sunetra Pawar, and Sunil Tatkare urged the CM for CBI intervention.
Paranjape stressed, ‘We insist on a complete audit of VSR Aviation’s operations and the aircraft’s maintenance logs pre- and post-incident.’ Acknowledging Rohit Pawar’s activism, he drew a line: ‘Questioning is legitimate, but politicizing a disaster is shameful.’
With mounting pressure, the push for accountability underscores deeper concerns over aviation safety and potential foul play. Maharashtra’s leaders must prioritize truth over turf wars to honor Pawar’s legacy and prevent future calamities.
