For the first time, this high-profile event is unfolding in the region, with specialists exchanging strategies to integrate AI into critical areas like farming and public health.
Speaking on the occasion, Mohammad Diabi from the Digital Transformation Delivery Unit pointed to AI’s universal appeal. ‘African nations need inclusion in this global push,’ he explained. ‘Our focus is leveraging AI against challenges in key sectors via innovative collaborations.’
Croatian diplomat Branimir Farkas reflected on addresses by PM Narendra Modi and President Emmanuel Macron. ‘They emphasized responsible AI use that respects our shared civilizational path,’ Farkas observed.
Greece’s Vassilios Michael Karkatzounis lauded the initiative. ‘This event is crucial, and India’s role is commendable, as noted by Macron who mentioned Greece specifically,’ he shared. ‘Global agreement on AI norms is imperative to ensure it aids humanity without displacing it.’
Representing the Greek delegation, Vassilis Koutsoumpas advocated for equitable AI benefits. ‘Inclusivity means distributing technology’s social and economic gains universally,’ he said, aligning with leaders like Modi, Macron, and Mitsotakis.
Aurora Russi from Italy’s embassy in New Delhi appreciated the human focus. ‘We share India’s values of placing humans at the center, making this summit exceptionally valuable.’
Alexandros Boudouris, another Greek voice, was inspired by Modi’s words. ‘My three years in India showed me its profound humanity—perfect for addressing AI’s societal effects.’
