Adani Vidya Mandir in rural Surguja has set a shining example in quality education, cleanliness, and environmental care, clinching the top ‘Clean and Green School of the District’ award. Part of the national Green and Clean School campaign, the recognition came after evaluating more than 2,365 district schools, where it excelled across all parameters to bag a 5-star rating.
Chhattisgarh Deputy CM Vijay Sharma handed over the award at the 77th Republic Day function, attended by key officials including District Collector Ajit Vasant and the Education Officer. Vice Principal Dr. T.L. Verma accepted it proudly.
The school aced 100% in handwashing stations and Mission LiFE execution, with strong marks in maintenance (95.24%), hygiene behaviors (90%), drinking water safety (90.91%), and sanitation facilities (85.19%). No other school matched this comprehensive performance.
Recent upgrades include advanced water purification, rainwater collection, solar power installation, organic kitchen gardens, and hygienic restrooms. Coupled with student health programs, counseling, and hygiene drives, these efforts have made the campus a model of sustainability. Children’s participation has amplified the impact.
With 1,040 pupils, it’s the area’s only CBSE-recognized school in a 35 km stretch and Chhattisgarh’s unique NABET-accredited institution, affirming its commitment to superior standards.
Local women from the MUBSS self-help group, over 250 strong, handle meals through 17 dedicated cooks serving 1,000 kids. Breakfast offers fruits, milk-Horlicks; lunches rotate nutritious options like grains, snacks, pulses, rice, breads, veggies, and proteins—boosting health and empowering women economically.
