Jammu’s RS Pura observation home became the site of a brazen breakout on Monday, as three detainees—including two from Pakistan—attacked police guards and vanished into the night. The escape, clocked at approximately 5:15 PM, left the officers injured and sparked an all-out pursuit by law enforcement.
Named in the FIR are Karajeet Singh, known as Gugga from Doubleharr village, alongside Pakistani duo Mohammad Sunaullah and Ehsaan Anwar. These individuals were under observation for various legal matters at the center, established in 1988 by the Social Welfare Department to rehabilitate youth in conflict with the law.
Beyond basic amenities, the home offers structured counseling to steer inmates away from crime. However, this lapse exposed vulnerabilities in oversight. Police response was immediate: perimeters sealed, specialist squads formed, and searches intensified across potential hideouts.
