The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has ramped up its inquiry into the death of a medical entrance exam aspirant in Bihar’s capital. On February 15, a team arrived unannounced at the deceased’s native village in Jehanabad, launching a detailed search of her family residence and interviewing locals.
Arriving around 9 AM, the officers meticulously examined the property for over three hours, reportedly taking away crucial evidence. Both the family and investigators maintained silence on the specifics, but insiders confirm documents and personal belongings were seized.
This follows the agency’s takeover of the high-profile case. The 20-something student was discovered unresponsive in her Chitragupt Nagar hostel on January 6. Despite medical efforts, she succumbed after five days in coma, igniting a firestorm of accusations.
The family claims she was sexually assaulted, pointing fingers at authorities for a cover-up. Bihar Police’s SIT had collected blood samples from 30 people for DNA testing before the case transfer. A hostel worker remains in custody.
Saturday saw CBI personnel at the hostel site, probing employees on the timeline of events. With political pressures mounting, the investigation promises to uncover the truth behind this shocking incident that has gripped the state.
