In a dramatic shift, Nepal’s Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) has launched its manifesto advocating the return of constitutional monarchy and re-establishing the country as a Hindu nation rooted in Vedic traditions. Party chief Rajendra Lingden presented the manifesto Saturday in Kathmandu, hailing ‘Prithvi Path’ as the blueprint for rebuilding the nation, explicitly rejecting secularism.
The comprehensive document calls for abolishing the current provincial system in favor of streamlined central-local governance. It stresses electoral improvements, uncompromising anti-corruption measures, and robust administration. For the March 5 parliamentary polls, RPP promises economic revival through six foundational pillars.
Infrastructure highlights include transforming the vital Mahendra Highway into a world-class route in three years and ramping up energy production over the next decade. The party’s zero-tolerance corruption policy, encapsulated in ‘We will be crushed, not corrupted,’ proposes probing post-1990 assets of elites and seizing unlawful gains via new laws.
Beyond economics, the manifesto addresses social harmony by outlawing religious and caste-based discrimination, including untouchability. RPP asserts this vision safeguards dignity for every faith community, fostering true religious equality and liberty. With focus on stability, good governance, and justice, the party positions itself as a transformative force for Nepal’s future.
