A devastating collapse at a Mumbai Metro construction site in Mulund has exposed glaring flaws in the city’s infrastructure push, prompting scathing criticism from Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Anand Dubey. One worker lost his life, and multiple others sustained injuries in the Saturday mishap, fueling demands for immediate accountability.
In a pointed interview, Dubey mourned the loss and lambasted the authorities. ‘Development shouldn’t mean playing with death,’ he asserted. ‘While we welcome metros and flyovers, corruption and shoddy work have no place. The company handed this contract—where are they now? The government can’t whitewash this; it must answer for the tragedy.’
Shifting gears, Dubey unleashed on the BJP over the India-Pakistan cricket showdown. ‘Pakistan threatens not to play, then backtracks for cash. Are we puppets in their game?’ he asked rhetorically. ‘BCCI and ICC’s Jay Shah, what are you doing? We oppose this match vehemently. Pakistan attacks us, yet we play ball? No ties with terror sponsors.’
He dismissed Pakistan’s participation as shameless profiteering. ‘Our team would crush them effortlessly. They’re here only for money—even in defeat, their board pockets millions. Let them play gully cricket; we’re above that.’
This dual critique underscores broader frustrations with governance, from construction safety to national pride in sports. As Mumbai reels from the accident, Dubey’s voice amplifies calls for transparency and zero tolerance for negligence, ensuring future projects prioritize human lives over hasty deadlines.
