Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav made history in Khargone’s Pandhana by disbursing Rs 1,500 monthly assistance to 1.25 crore Ladli Behna scheme beneficiaries at the click of a button. This upgrade from the initial Rs 1,000 payout marks a significant stride in empowering the state’s womenfolk.
The vibrant event doubled as a development bonanza, with the CM unveiling projects exceeding Rs 608 crore in value. From infrastructure to agriculture, the announcements reflect a blueprint for sustainable progress in the Nimar region.
In his impassioned speech, Yadav reminisced about the scheme’s inception last year. ‘Our promise to sisters is being fulfilled – Rs 1,500 in their accounts every month,’ he declared. He explained how this aid strengthens families, positioning women as pillars of prosperity.
With elections on the horizon, the CM reminded attendees that ‘votes are the biggest answer in democracy.’ Praising PM Modi’s guidance, he outlined the vision of making every beneficiary a self-sufficient ‘Lakhpati Didi.’ Social welfare measures include Rs 55,000 for collective daughter weddings, honoring cultural traditions.
Agricultural focus remains sharp: enhancing farmer incomes, promoting multi-season farming, and optimizing irrigation. Yadav motivated youth to safeguard family farmlands, predicting a golden era for Nimar.
Infrastructure highlights included the Omkareshwar-Indore rail link, Sukta micro-irrigation nod, dairy subsidies up to Rs 1 lakh, onion processing facilities, a massive Rs 252 crore sewerage project in Khargone, and inaugurations worth Rs 353 crore. These steps collectively aim to reshape lives and landscapes across Madhya Pradesh.
